Condoleezza Rice answering questions from Congressman Adam Schiff last month. Embarrassing. The things a diplomat must do for her country, eh?

Via Matt Welch, who had a column on this in the LA Times this week. President Bush also managed to avoid referring to the murder of more than a million Armenians as, well, genocide. Then again, his administration sacked the US Ambassador to Armenia, John Evans, who did dare to put diplomatic protocol to one side and appall the Turks by using the "G-Word" in public.

I know the following does not focus on your intention of the above story, but: Rejoice! There is still hope for the world when a high official of the US government states that they will not put their morals above those of a foreign nation. I'm already opening the champagne bottle...
