A pointless endeavour, of course, but there was a petition sent to Downing Street asking Gordon Brown to do the decent thing and resign. Today the government decided to respond to that petition:
Weirdly, that's a kind of non-denial denial. Not that this means GB will retreat, in Matthew Norman's phrase, "to his study with the Glenlivet and trusty Luger" but you'd think that he would at least respond to a petition asking him to resign by saying that, you know, he has no intention of resigning. The Prime Minister is completely focussed on restoring the economy, getting people back to work and improving standards in public services. As the Prime Minister has consistently said, he is determined to build a stronger, fairer, better Britain for all.

November 4th, 2009 8:25pm Report this commentTypical Brown: avoids the issues and keep reciting, Tourette-like, how focussed and committed he is to building Jerusalem, or perhaps Mecca, in England' green and pleasant. His Blakean aspirations though seem to have stopped at epitomising a dark and Satanic mill-owner. What a piece of work.

He's running out of time. So far, after 12 years of Brown, Britain is weaker, less fair and worse than I ever remember it. This wretched man Brown offers only soundbites and platitudes. His "determination" is worthless other than in perpetuating a vile regime that most people will be glad to see the back of.

November 5th, 2009 9:44am Report this commentGordon Brown is too much a misery guts to buy decent scotch, let alone a classic german revolver.
Much more likely to be a bottle of Tesco's own brand and an American Saturday Night Special.
The man couldn't even commit suicide with class.
