Is the Mail on Sunday's back-bench trying to persuade voters to think about endorsing the Liberal Democrats? I assume so, otherwise you'd have to wonder what they meant by writing this headline for the dead tree edition of this story:
I mean, my explanation is the only one that makes sense, right?"His wife is Spanish, his mother Dutch, his father half-Russian and his spin doctor German. Is there ANYTHING British about Lib Dem leader?"
*No. But it might as well be with this kind of tripe.

April 18th, 2010 2:16pm Report this commentThe desperation of the Mail's article pales beside that of a website that I happened to chance upon the other day.
Can you believe that its sole agenda was to attack a whole political party on the basis that it isn't British - despite all its candidates, activists, members and supporters being, er, British?
Truly shocking (as I'm sure you'll be the first to agree - and condemn in your next blog).

April 18th, 2010 6:07pm Report this commentDefining "Britishness" to encompass Clegg should not be a task beyond the ability of a competent spin-doctor - particularly a German one.

April 18th, 2010 7:16pm Report this commentI agree. This is astonishing. I now understand why the Mail is regarded the way it is. And the Tories having a go at Clegg smacks of desperation and makes them look spiteful. What's the matter with them all?

April 18th, 2010 7:26pm Report this commentAlex, methink the headline defines close to what the confused party genuinely believes Britishness is. Doping it with abit of colour, and voila, we have the full Monty. Like it alot.
