In the non-embedded video I noticed they used a single mike that became fashionable again a few years ago. The first time I saw it used - and used well - was by the now defunct Denver band Open Road led by the marvellously named Bradford Lee Folk. One of their tracks, sadly over a photo, is on this YouTube:

I saw them a couple of years ago, he was playing backup to her song, got to the solo and instantaneously flipped a capo on fret seven to solo up a fifth interval, then at the end flipped it off and threw it over his shoulder to end up playing in the original key, without missing a single note...
Damndest thing I ever saw, in the most awed sense of that venerable americanism...
