Denver, Colorado In the lead up to Obama's speech on Thursday night his 2004 address is going to be played over and over again. But I think this speech Obama gave at the Iowa Jefferson Jackson dinner in November 2007 might be a better guide. Anyway, it is well worth watching

August 25th, 2008 11:09amThis speech is exactly the sort of flam that has got the race to the convention season neck and neck. If all he can do is repeat this sort of verbose rubbish he will lose big.
Voters knows that McCain is qualified to be president. He does not have to make that case. There is no such evidence in play that Obama is similarly qualified. He has to make that case and unless he can do that and break the over-exposure with alot that is really new (Biden new?) he will fail. He has set himself and enormous, if not impossible, task with his 'change' message. Change what? and how? and why should anyone belive he is 'the one' to bring change? It is a very easy message to slam and the GOP will be very good at doing it.

August 25th, 2008 10:29pmAnybody who hasn’t seen the documentary ANYTOWN, USA by Kristian Fraga should check it out! It’s an entertaining story about a small town election with great colorful characters that we would all be entertained by in our hometown. In a year with larger-than-life politicians on a national level it is enlightening (and a whole lot of fun) to see what happens in a local mayoral race. This film brings the election home and shows that humorous–yet heartfelt–politics are right outside our very doors…in Anytown. Check out the film on IMDB or http://www.filmmovement.com/filmcatalog/index.asp?MerchandiseID=37
