David Frum has a comparison which brings home to you just how much the RNC spent on a new wardrobe for Sarah Palin:
While the New York Times reports that for the first two weeks in October, Plain’s travelling make-up artist was the best paid person on the McCain campaign.“The median monthly mortgage payment in the US in 2007 was about $1500. In other words, Sarah Palin spent very nearly as much on clothing in a single month as the typical American family will spend on housing over the next ten years.”

October 25th, 2008 5:09pmThe Republicans spent $150,000 on clothes for 60 days campaigning, but Obama spent $5m on the temple for his acceptance speech. And the RNC will auction off the clothes for charity after the election.

October 25th, 2008 8:18pmWestern civilization is on the brink (apparently) of being usurped and James Forsyth worries about the cost of Sarah Palin's wardrobe.
But what if Sarah becomes the new pin-up of the 'Hillary Babes'? And of all those influenced by these women?
What price a huge slab of the Democratic electorate?
The cost of Palin to the Republicans? Nothing. To Obama? Everything.
