Martin Bright has spent most of his career working for liberal newspapers. He began his career in the late 1980s writing about books and cinema for The Guardian, New Statesman and the now defunct City Limits. In 1996 he was appointed Education Correspondent at The Observer, where he also worked as Home Affairs Editor. In 2005 he became Political Editor of the New Statesman, a job which he left in January 2009. Martin has also presented several Dispatches documentaries for Channel 4 and is an expert on the UK government's relationship with radical Islam.
Alex Massie is a freelance journalist, currently based in the Scottish Borders. He spent five years in Washington DC as a correspondent for The Scotsman and the Daily Telegraph. Prior to that he was Assistant Editor and Chief Leader Writer for Scotland on Sunday. He has also worked as a sports journalist and as a magazine feature writer. He blogs about American, British and Scottish politics and culture. And cricket.
