The European Union. Such merry pranksters, eh?

Under changes which could come into force by next summer airlines will be compelled to give details of all their available tickets to the wholesalers, meaning that travel agents will be able to offer a wider selection of fares.

In addition airlines who sell their tickets through online travel agents to disclose all the available fares, their full timetables, any additional charges and even the carbon emissions from the flight itself.

Passengers looking to book shorter flights will also be given times and fares for alternative rail journeys and even the carbon emissions of the flights they hope to take.

Have I got this right? A privately own business, such as an airline, will have to advertise the state owned services of its competitor, the railway?

They are joking, yes? If not, can we leave yet?
