Betting With the Met Office

Monday, 7th January 2008

I'm not good enough with statistics to be able to check this calculation but assuming that it is correct I would love to make bets with the Met Office.

For as The Englishman tells us, they've just managed to lose a 2,958,859:1 bet. Just think of the winnings that wouldhave been mine if they'd been willing to actually offer those odds?

Even better, they themselves set the odds in the first place.

The full details of the calculation are here.
