Pete’s right. Dan le Sac and Scroobius Pip escape categorisation, no bad thing. And their new album will be worth a look; although the demo track, Get Better, was too glib and earnest for me. It seemed some way from their normally wry sound and voice. God forbid they've started taking themselves seriously.
I doubt anything can surpass their first hit, Thou Shalt Always Kill. Anything besides The Streets’s A grand don’t come for free that is. Constantly wry and witty, and supported by playful garage and hip-hop beats, it's Mike Skinner at his best; and, for the little it's worth, it was my favourite album of the last decade. In the unlikely event you’ve developed a yen to descend on Faliraki, Fit But You Know It should cure you.
