A big day in our household yesterday, as our youngest started his first term at secondary school. The pic shows my last glimpse of him as he set off. I'm not a doting dad, but he still seems too young to make the leap. The good news was that he came home full of excited chatter about his new timetable.
As I've said before, I'll miss our cycle rides down to the village primary school. The relationship with teachers changes too: as a parent, you go from spending half your life hanging outside the gates to having a quick chat with a form master once or twice a year. School becomes Somewhere Else, and you hope for the best.
