And a fruitful one at that, which makes a very pleasant change. Feeling at a loose end yesterday, I took myself off to see "Man on Wire", the documentary about Philippe Petit's lunatic high-wire promenade across the Twin Towers. Enthralling. I was a tiny bit irritated by the dearth of background information (who funded all that laborious planning, why did he choose such such nutty American sidekicks?) But in the end I was swept away by the poetry of the whole endeavour. Yes, life itself as a tight-rope walk...
