On "Desert Island Discs" just now, Sanjeev Bhaskar chose Susannah McCorkle's version of "Waters of March" as the one piece of music he'd have to take with him. As he said, it's a celebration of the ordinary miracles of existence. In fact - and I don't believe this was mentioned on the programme - McCorkle suffered from depression for many years and eventually committed suicide. I've already posted Jobim's classic duet with Elis Regina, but I haven't been able to find McCorkle's recording online. However, I did stumble across this fine D-I-Y tribute to the American by an admirer whose YouTube pseudonym is Brazilianposer.
