"What a voice. Limpid, seductive, simple and sinister all at once..." Jessica Duchen pays homage to Serge Gainsbourg. Weird to think that the old reprobate would have turned 80 this year. Jessica links to an article about an exhibition devoted to his life and scandalous times. There's a clip of one of his songs too. "La Javanaise" would be my choice. I'm a sucker for the soft-focus arrangement on the recording Juliette Gréco made back in the early Sixties.
