21st century tropics... Hannah J. Taylor's atmospheric shot of the federal parliament in that ultra-modernist capital city, Brasília. Taken from her exhibition, The Brasília Project, opening in west London next week.

As readers of my old blog will know, I'm mad about the music of the great singer-songwriter, Caetano Veloso, the poet of Bahia. Imagine how pleased I was to stumble across a live performance of his evergreen, Desde que o samba e samba (Ever since samba was samba). He sings it here with his old friend Gilberto Gil, now the country's Minister of Culture. If you need to unwind for the weekend, you won't be disappointed.
