I wish I could say that car-torchings are a rarity in these parts, but we've had a spate of them over the past couple of years. Here's the view this morning in the little car park opposite our train station, five minutes' walk from my house. Three more cars had their windows smashed outside homes just around the corner. It all happened at about 3.30 in the morning, apparently. I'm told it's possible the middle car in the picture was broken into and then set alight because it's a make that's popular with boy-racers on the hunt for spare parts. (I've erased the number plate on the left. The tripod and the boiler-suit belong to the policeman who'd just turned up to examine the evidence.)
Another case to add to my log of local "incidents".
