Loaded headline of the day

The award goes to Edward Heathcoat Amory's hatchet-job on John Bercow in the Mail:

Is this preening careerist the man for the job?
As I've done a few 180-degree turns of my own, I prefer to put my trust in Daniel Finkelstein, who explains why the Tories should support the new Speaker:
In most of the big battles John Bercow has fought over the last 10 years against the Tory party, he was right and the Tory Party wasn't.
Best satirical response to the Westminster vote comes from Hopi Sen:
Labour MPs have behaved in a disgracefully partisan way by voting for a Conservative MP with a history of support for extreme right-wing causes. It is this sort of refusal to reach out which leads many to believe that the only way to re-establish the independence of the House of Commons is for a future Conservative majority to elect a loyalist Conservative MP as speaker. Only the election of a Speaker with the whole hearted support of the Conservative Front bench will end the bitter partisan divisiveness which has led to the sorry sight of hundreds of Labour MPs voting for a Conservative.
