I'm a very light sleeper, unfortunately. On Sunday I was kept awake by teenagers shouting and singing in a nearby garden. I think it was a birthday party, although I suppose there may be other reasons for standing around in the dark in late November. Still, it didn't go on too long, so I guess I should be grateful. In the early hours of this morning, a car alarm went off, and I got to the window in time to see another vehicle tearing into the distance. I don't think the one in the picture is the one the would-be thieves were working on - the sound was coming from the opposite direction - but I could be wrong.
Another neighbour had her car written off about a week ago: whoever broke into it rolled it down the hill until it crashed into a van. Oh, and we had armed police arresting someone on our street a couple of weeks ago. Otherwise, not much has happened, and at least I didn't have to overhear this effing-and-blinding conversation on a No 73 bus in Stoke Newington. [Via Miss Baroque]
