Great British summer, 2009

Friday, 17th July 2009

After admiring the forlorn deckchair photo that Dave Hill has just posted, I took a look out of my window. Yes, another glorious July afternoon. Very Leonard Cohen. (Perhaps I should book a trip to the beach in Paris. It will be sandcastle time again over there next week.) Btw, it's good to see Dave plugging Sam Selvon's vintage novel, "The Lonely Londoners". As a portrait of city life it's up there with Colin MacInnes' "City of Spades" and "Absolute Beginners".
