Comment is not free

Tuesday, 6th May 2008

This site doesn't get many comments, but I've noticed that the proportion of headbangers has increased of late. I've already blocked quite a few. Time to take a firmer hand. I'm really not interested in hearing that Hillary is in the pocket of the Israelis, or that Britain is overrun by Muslims, or that multiculturalism is a sin and Enoch Was Right. I'm tired of the general lack of manners too. If people can't be bothered to be polite, then in future I won't bother to read beyond the first line. There are plenty of other blogs where bores can go and do their ranting.

I'm guessing that your civility and objectivity don't lend itself to a lot of comments. You would need to be more offensive to generate that kind of traffic. I think you are correct to confine the comments to the standards you exhibit in your posts. Feel free to keep me off if I'm offensive, although, as someone who tends to agree with much of what you say, you might want to keep me off because I'm boring. I think I'll start a blog called The Boring Blogger. Your posts are not boring. As long as you keep blogging, I'm not that interested in what you do with the comments. My main interest in this blog is your observations, not the comments.
