Marc Ambinder notes that one of the leaders of the pro-Democratic Atlas Project has put out a video making fun of John McCain's age. Is that really a good idea? It's crude stuff, all in all, even if you can't help smiling at the cheekiness of some of the rhymes:
"He's older than his wife, a little younger than his mama,
He's old enough to be one and a half Barack Obamas."

May 16th, 2008 12:29pmI think this 527 is on dangerous ground as going after McCain on the age issue risks dredging up all the culture wars stuff--not a Democratic strong point. Also, seniors are a group who worry about McCain's age but if you want to make jokes about old people being impotent then you might find some generational solidarity kicking in.

May 16th, 2008 2:50pmA cheap and stupid shot that will push the centre and the old his way. If it gets any attention the Dems. will have to ban it to be credible - and then the procucers will have done McCain an even bigger favour killing the topic 3 1/2 months before the election proper.
