CBS had sold the airtime to the Ford Foundation, and their advertising people came up with pastiches of "Private Lives": lovers on a balcony watching Ford models pass by with a commentary that led from "very flat, Norfolk" to "and so is the Thunderbird Hardtop, with the interchangeable hoods and seat belts and push-button drive and automatic window-washer and the plastic seat covers extra".
