Vivendi goes shopping
12:58pmAfter years of restructuring, French telecoms to media conglomerate Vivendi has turned acquisitive. Vivendi, which controls France’s second mobile phone operator, SFR, and Maroc Telecom, looks set to buy 20% to 30% of Dubai’s Oger Telecom for $2bn to $3bn. Oger has 55% of Turk Telecom, bought last year for $9.1bn, and operations in South Africa and the Middle East. Saudi Oger, its parent, scrapped plans to list it in London last autumn. Looks like it’ll list, indirectly, on Euronext-Paris instead.
