September 18th, 2008 5:18am Report this commentUS election on 4th November is an unique election where not only two major parties are involved but the the country;s future at this juncture with so many accumulated issues which the burden of Iraq war had sidelined is at stake. Let us hope that majority of voters will cast their votes to choose more appropriate candidate for the presidential post who can tackle more easily the burnig issues at home and abroad alike.

September 18th, 2008 11:27am Report this commentObama actually talks about what he will do in his advert.
By contrast, McCain is sooo specific... 'I'll reform Wall Street and fix Washington'.
I mean seriously, it's not as if McCain is going to say anything else now? Like 'I'll leave Wall Street as it is and Washington is fiiiine'

September 19th, 2008 5:34pm Report this commentEven though I would support McCain if I had a vote his ad is useless, he says nothing of value and is hopelessly vague.
Problem is, Obama’s proposals are worse than nothing. He seems to be suggesting more taxes on companies (reserving particular hostility for oil companies) which seems particularly stupid during a downturn and withdrawing troops from Iraq. These policies may be popular but seem to me to be deeply irresponsible. To withdraw from Iraq when peace and greater stability are just around the corner seems almost cruel. Even if Obama did not vote for the war he must realise that the US has a responsibility to restore peace to Iraq, a responsibility he wants to renege on in order to win votes. Ironic considering he ends on a comment about the need for greater “shared responsibility.”

September 19th, 2008 9:06pm Report this commentI think Obama will now win this election, despite my dislike of his smugness and lack of scruple.
McCain has blown it by his errsatic response to the Wall Street crisis.
He rails at the government for rescuing the banks, trying to strike an anti-fat-cat note.
This is sheer stupidity.
The banks have to be rescued first to save the livelihoods of most American people.
At least Bush and Obama see that simple point.
McCain doesn't. He lacks the most basic judgement.
Out you go, McCain. One can't afford to have fools at th top.
