Not a purple patch for Prince or Citigroup

The pressure on Chuck Prince, CEO of Citigroup, is growing again. As The NYT notes today, Citigroup’s share price is essentially where it was in October 2003 when he took over. Perhaps, the worst sign for Prince is that the write off of $5.9bn that Citigroup announced yesterday actually pushed its share price up because the market thought the news might hasten Prince’s departure.
