John Kerry is a disgrace
James Forsyth 11:48pmThis joke is below the belt and should have no place in civilized political discourse. If Kerry is not taken to task for it and Obama pressured to condemn Kerry, it will show that there is a real double standard in the coverage.

Could somebody explain please?

I think Kerry's joke is much better than mccain's "bomb iran" joke. And it's probably true!

October 21st, 2008 2:53am Report this commentOne problem, before you get carried away with your fake outrage- it was a joke- nothing serious- and it was a joke that McCain has told himself. I know some of you consider Kerry an easy target to fall back on, but he is really a stateman and a patriot and this little bit of faigned shock will not play any more.

October 21st, 2008 9:09am Report this commentLabourite - dont why, just your usual JF wingnut nonsense about something a liberal said.
Not seen any comment about Palin and McCain's crowd or the muslim stuff or the arab stuff.
Or even about what Robertson that Powell only chose Obama as he was black, a sympathy vote for a black man over the white man.
Don't worry Verity will be along with faux outrage and an explanation as to why this is such a bad thing he said.

What is it 'mocking'?
That McCain is indecisive?

October 21st, 2008 3:46pm Report this commentHe won't be. You might have to live in America to sense the arrogance of this sorry lot. There is a colorful and rather vulgar Texas phrase: he thinks the sun shines out his ass. Put him in a gathering with Obama and everyone would be blinded.
And we watch the Missouri Secretary of State complicit with ACORN in voter fraud, while the media ignores it as much as possible...

If Kerry is taken to task and Obama pressured to condem Kerry it will simply confirm that the McCain campaign will grasp at any diversion, however trivial, rather than address the economic crisis that is erasing the retirement savings of the American people.

October 22nd, 2008 2:34am Report this commentIt is actually a clever little joke. It plays off of Senator Kerry's DNC convention speech in which he compared the stands of Candidate McCain versus the stands of Senator McCain. "Talk about flip flops" is what Kerry said then. Now the part of the joke that some people seem to be outraged about- when McCain was asked about what briefs he wore, he said, depends. Get it? It depends on what McCain you are referring too.

October 22nd, 2008 11:34am Report this commentHow helpful are comments about 'fake outrage'? What an empty Americanism, it means nothing and is an emotional trap. Bush was a covert swing to the right and Obama is the same thing to the left...quit swinging America, and get stable, please. Kerry's joke about Depends is clearly disrespectful. Does this mean that Kerry plans to leave politics sooner than the age of 72? Let's wait and see. I know where my money's at.
