The housing market is turning with the leaves

3:28pm

Autumn is falling on Britain’s ten-year housing boom. Prices eased 0.5% in October, after a 0.6% fall in September, according to Halifax, Britain’s biggest mortgage lender. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors says that not only are prices falling, but owners are rushing to sell, contributing to the price slide. According to Halifax, the price of an average UK home, at £197,248, remains 8.9% higher than a year ago.
