Look, the Chinese are the new colonialists. But, having spent a few years in China, I feel that they are essentially indifferent to the politics of left or right: they are, ultimately, pragmatists and rather more "western" than we can imagine - take a look at Hong Kong for example. Curiously, I feel that the Chinese are more related to the ethos of the USA than the EU or some Third World Marxist dump. They are capitalists. And, actually, I think this good news for the West. Don't worry about China.
