The Coffee House and Guido seem to have suddenly become fond of featuring video clips requiring all sorts of fancy software.
We aren't all computer anoraks, Pete.

August 8th, 2009 9:52pm Report this commentTGF: I'm not sure what the problem is there - it's working on my computer, and I think the video window is similar to the ones they use on YouTube.
If YouTube works on your computer, there's an edited version here, with a link to the full-length version that I've embedded above:

August 8th, 2009 11:26pm Report this commentThe only time I ever visit YouTube is by way of links from here or Guido and my computer doesn't want to know your link above either.
I give up. But I'd still like to know why I could view video links here on and Guido a few weeks ago but can't now.
Computers may have their uses but I loathe the sodding things.

August 9th, 2009 1:22am Report this commentWIFN are you blogging about Nixon when the worst POTUS in history: a mouthy, gauche, Marxist, shyster, neophite pol is at this very moment selling out the West lock stock and barrel.
Nixon did far less harm to the States in his entire lifetime than this tosser has done in his first 200 or so days of office.
Silly season it may be, but can we press the 'priorities' button and join the purge that is gaining a head of steam States-side? We used to have a good contribution from US conservatives on the Speccie blogs - you are letting them down with this faux milestone crap (since when is 35 years significant as an anniversary - (apart from Clive Dunne's catch phrase in Dad's Army) and Watergate was, as we now know, all about FBI infighting and much ado about nowt in the end. Nixon was nobbled - so what? The current Presidential scandal has the potential to do us all in. Tricky Dicky ist kaput! Our target should be the lolloping, lippy lout who is masquerading as the Second Coming and doing business daily with the enemies (without and within). Get a grip, Pete! This deflection away from the really dangerous current Presidential manoeuvring is deeply disturbing.

If you want some inspiration for the sort of copy that should be appearing in this magazine, and on these blogs, feast your eyes on the latest product of the dancing pen of Mark Steyn in NRO. Pure genius!

August 9th, 2009 11:22am Report this commentSorry to harp on with odious comparisons Pete, but Gerard Vanderleun has done yet another brilliant parody on Ginsberg's "Growl" which is kind of relevant to this post:

Can't you get your Editor to commission the occasional piece from Gerard. I'd renew my subscription just for that, even though I'll never forgive the pretentious pup for dumping Paul Johnson so unceremoniously - one of the cultural crimes of noughty decade - ageism personified.

The delusional hysteria continues. Sigh.
It's reminiscent of Ken Livingstone's supporters post-Boris' win.

A good point. Where is Mark Steyn in the British media these days?
I miss the scathing right wing rhetoric and the logic.
