Here comes the green...

Peter Hoskin 1:16pm

It's been billed as the "Green Budget".  Here are some of Darling's green announcements:

1) The Government are considering raising the carbon emissions target, for an 80% cut in emissions by 2050.
2) Legislation to be introduced for plastic bag charging.
3) New £26 million fund to help householders reduce emissions.
4) Reform of vehicle excise duty (including re-banding) to encourage consumers and manufacturers to buy/make less-polluting cars.

Five minutes before he announced these he talked about measures to get people through secruity checks quicker at airports - meaning the planes get filled quicker and fly away quicker and therefore more planes can take off each day. Marvellous. It sums up the craziness of the Brown/Darling regime

£26m is about £1.50 per house in the UK - A very useful contribution that will be! Go the global warmists. I bet that really makes you feel good!!!
