Peter Hoskin 6:36pm

...when it comes to the Lib Dem's offical election song, performed by the Liberal Democrat Community Choir:

Ironically if they got Cliff Richard to sing it would probably be a certain Christmas #1.

For the first few moments, it sounds like a debased version of "Flower of Scotland".

Words have obviously failed them, as well.
They are without words, and without music.

If I've interpreted the subtle nuances of this grand opus, the Lib Dems are trying to persuade the listener that if he votes for them at the general election they will personify the difference in something between now and then.

Liberal Democrat Community Choir, eh? How hard they must have pondered over the need for a focal word like "Community". But "Choir" is a bit far-fetched for what sounds like 2 voices, with 3-4 more in the background. I propose instead: the OK Chorale.

And to play devil's advocate for a moment, it seems unfair to blame the Libdems for such vacuous, mindless, tuneless tosh. The blame lies with the halfwits who decided that having an "official election song" was either a necessary or a desirable thing for a political party to have. Just like the World Cup, in fact, except that the terraces are empty.

Unlike the Lib-Dems themselves it sounds relatively innocuous.

To my unmusical ear it sounds like 'We'll pull the chain"
Flushed with possible success?

Can you give me a fiver, two two pound coins and a one pound coin, please?
That's the change that works best for me.

Sorry - would someone transcribe the words, can't hear them over the appalling 'music'. No, on the other hand - don't bother, it can't possibly be worth having to listen to it again just to take the piss.
