Ken's supporters come under question again
James Forsyth 4:38pm
Today’s Evening Standard leads with the headline, “Suicide bomb backer runs Ken campaign.” The Standard alleges that Azzam Tamimi, who is a leading figure in the Muslims for Ken campaign, is on record as both praising suicide bombing and suggesting that he himself would be prepared to be one. “If I can go to Palestine and sacrifice myself I would do it. Why not?”
If this quote is accurate, then Ken must disassociate himself from Tamimi and accept no help from his organisation.

The timing of this disclosure is too perfect to be coincidental. If BoJo has his own dirty tricks department - call it counter-espionage if you will - then good for him, given the downright lies that Ken's minions continue to spew out (at our expense) about him. More shocking porkies arrived in this morning's post, from the Labour Party.
I do wonder what revelations the Opposition has already lined up for release to the press as May 2010 approaches: something reflecting perhaps on that famous 'moral compass'?
Please don't make us wait that long.

April 17th, 2008 8:05am Report this commentKen cannot credibly dissasociate himself from this man since he has a record of associating himself with people like Qaradawi who support suicide bombings and other revolting practices. He (and his supporters) have also tried to smear Boris as anti-Islam when the reality is that it is people like Ken - who give publicity to the most reactionary and violent Islamists - who are most likely to do harm to the wider Muslim community.

April 17th, 2008 3:24pm Report this comment"do harm to the wider Muslim community"?
I'm fed up with disgustingly depraved Islamic extremism, practiced, articulated, encouraged and, more importantly in this country, insufficiently condemned or silently condoned by the "wider Muslim community". Watching the "martyrdom videos" of the recent crop of home-grown jihadis I felt revulsion but also overwhelming weariness at the West's lack of resolve and PC-infested, guilt-ridden, hand-wringing, self-tormenting semantic gymnastics in order to do anything but call a spade a spade.
We've had almost 50 years of these sad little misfits perpetrating their chip on the shoulder terror on the world, as we are constantly reminded and impacted in all walks of life.
The level of tolerance seen everywhere in the West is mind-numbingly fantastic, stupid and ultimately self-defeating.
It's time somebody woke up and took the gloves off.
