Congratulations to Samantha and David Cameron
Peter Hoskin 2:05pm
Coffee House congratulations to Samantha and David Cameron on the birth of their baby
daughter. Here's the Downing Street statement:
No name, as yet – any guesses?"The Prime Minister and Mrs Cameron are delighted to announce the birth of their fourth child, a baby girl. Both the baby – who was born weighing 6lbs 1oz – and Mrs Cameron are doing very well. The PM and Mrs Cameron would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the hospital for their help and kindness."

Name: how about Camilla Cameron?
or Maggie Norma Georgie Cameron as I know the toffs like lots of middle names and to include their mentors and benefactors.

Predictable nasty post from that horrible hag, Verity. He did win, you bitter old cow. He got the most votes of any party and he is Prime Minister.

A good start is that the baby was born on 'holiday'.
Sadly we find the Spectator joining in. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

August 24th, 2010 3:56pm Report this commentWhen was the last time a Tory baby was born in Downing Street? Or perhaps I should ask when was the baby of a Tory PM last born in Downing Street? Hmmmnn. May be I should indeed ask, "When are we going to get a Tory PM who is likely to sire a baby in Downing Street, if ever again?"
But anyway .... congratulations to Samantha and the proud Dad. Not often do we get good statistics out of Downing Street, but this is a very good one demographically speaking.
One hopes the name will be chosen for family reasons, rather than political ones. Why does he need leave btw? They live above the office at our expense. You bloody girlie men need to get a grip!

August 24th, 2010 4:04pm Report this commentGeneral Zod, you old fantasist, what on earth do I have to be bitter about? I am not governed by Davie Dim and his multi-party ragbag of failures.
Woman gives birth. Hold the front page!
Why isn't The Speccie covering the mining story in Chile (on our side during the Falklands)? It's an Anglosphere story. Americans and Aussies have sent engineers who are specialists in this kind of collapse. All the men are alive ... but with the drama that they are traped 4.6 miles in and the rescue will take three to four months. The President of Chile is a dish. What's not to love about this story??

August 24th, 2010 4:33pm Report this commentGood to see that 'horrible hag' and 'old cow' are accepted as accurate by the horrible old cow, even if she bridles [sorry, mixed metaphor] at 'bitter.' As a fish doesn't know it lives in water, so Verity can't imagine good manners or charity.

You do Verity..enough to post your second heartfelt congratulation comment on here.
'A house FULL of servants'? FGSV!!!!Do grow up girl!
I presume these 'servants' get paid & pay their taxes.Good pay at that.
Maybe these 'servants' have qualifications to be trusted to be 'servants'.Did these
'servants' get these qualifications of their
own accord?
Did these 'servants' spend years of their lives learning how to be a 'servant'just to be undermined by the likes of you?
These'servants' are trusted in the Cameron's
home and trusted with their children.
They are NOT poor bods from the workhouse,
they are qualified workers,NOT 'servants'.
Many women send their children to day care centres/nurseries & schools that employ staff who are treated as surragate parents never mind 'servants'.
I would much rather be a 'servant' for a family like the Cameron's than a servant for the major retail bosses.
Verity,you will NEVER have servants,because
you believe you are above that. That it is somehow inhumane to employ someone to do that kind of work for rich folk.
Look around you!
The world is full of rich folk who employ
'servants', it's called the world of work.

General Zod asks: PS where is the political angle on the Chile story? It is news, good news so far, but just news.
I take your point, but the political angle is the cooperation by the Anglosphere - in this case, the Americans and the Aussies in the cause of assisting a third country. It is easy for us to cooperate because we share a common language, a common history and a common mindset.

You on the other hand..have deeper questions
to ask yourself.
Q1.Why do I dislike Cameron so much?Could I really have a secret crush?
Q2.Why are ALL my comments on Cameron so negative? Am I hiding a secret crush?
Q3.Why do ALL my comments on Cameron make me appear just plain nasty? Could it be to hide my secret crush.
Someone who harbors such deep feelings, over one person, for such a length of time must surely have the problem.
