May 30th, 2008 11:41pmI'm sure it hasn't escaped everyone's notice that the Speccie website has what could be called "honesty box" funding. It's laudable to make such a large proportion of the magazine's content available free of charge online; clearly this would be unsustainable without purchasers of the printed copy. I guess you are hoping loyalty and the pride in funding such a noble cause are motivation enough for print readers to continue to pay when logic would dictate otherwise. An interesting experiment.
