Rombo vs Santorum
Jonathan Jones 6:43pm
Having reclaimed the mantle of ‘Anti-Romney in Chief’, Rick Santorum is now
surging in the polls. He’s moved into a narrow lead at the national
level and – more importantly – looks likely to win two of the next big states on the primary calendar: Michigan and Ohio.
Of course, that makes him the new target of Romney attack ads. Restore Our Future – the pro-Romney Super PAC – has already released a
video slamming Santorum as a ‘big spender’ and ‘Washington insider’, which it will air in Michigan, Ohio and Arizona. A Romney advisor explained the strategy
to Buzzfeed yesterday:
And Santorum’s response? This:‘“Santorum’s a blank slate, so everyone’s projecting on to him what they want because he’s the last anti-Romney,” said the advisor. “Santorum is going to get introduced to people that don’t know him.”’
But this probably won’t phase the Romney campaign too much. Mitt Romney laughed it off on TV
today, and that Buzzfeed article suggests that his team are relaxed about it too:
‘“The expectation is that Santorum, just given his personality, is going to whine like crazy about this,” the advisor laughed.’

Santorum is a million times more authentic, he looks, talks, and sounds like a regular Joe with a level of decency and integrity that Romney won't be able to match. Santorum is Obama's real nightmare, a real compassionate conservative that voters actually like!

We will get no comfort in our own spat with Europe. We will see him egging Netanyahu to attack Iran.We will see him backing Catholic Argentina in their quest for the Falklands.

Calm down, dear. Obama is going to win.
We desperately need an election in the UK so that the nation can scrape the LibDems off the bottom of its shoes. Then yer card carrying LibDem man, Jones, can return to being a hopeless romantic.

Point taken. But when you've watched a video like "Rombo", you have to ask what kind of an example it is that America sets to the rest of the world about what democracy is and how it works. And the answer is....not a very good one.
