Situation soon to be vacant?
Fraser Nelson 12:10pm
When John Reid was given his last-ever appointment, he’d have fun introducing himself at meetings by saying “I’m John Reid and I am the current Home Secretary.” It was a good joke, both at the instability of the post and his own itinerancy. But if you Google “Labour” then its first line of introduction is “Britain's democratic socialist party currently led by Gordon Brown”. I just love that “currently”. If I were the Labour Party webmaster, I wouldn’t put anything more permanent there either.

Just pray, as Brown is praying, for a good showing by the Tory candidate in Glasgow - otherwise your hero will be looking for a new job

Just because you choose to ignore the Boris disaster doesn't mean it we aren't all thinking about it.
Looks like the wheels are coming off "two jobs Boris'" chariot. Ahh Happy days.

Looks like that should be "dream on" Mike & Thick1,2
I see the New Labour proles are out in force tonight.
Both of them! LOL ;O)
For the SNP to win Glasgow East is a BIG ASK! It is Labours 25th safest seat after all.....BUT!.....the signs are that the core labour support are so pissed at the 10p tax thing and rising prices that they aren't going to bother voting or will be voting SNP.
The Tories & Lib Dems don't stand a chance in this area..........which leaves it a straight fight between a disgraced Labour party (11 Glasgow Labour Councillors are currently under investigation for fraud) and an invigorated SNP.
It looks like there could be a major upset.....and we all know what that could lead to! ;O)

BTW I enjoyed your piece on Glasgow sink estates, really shocking to think the average life expectancy is in the mids 50's. I found that just so depressing that so many fellow citizens live such short s**t lives.
Silent Hunter If your talking about me I have been the voice of reason on this blog for many a long year & I'm certainly no NuLab prole.
