Is this Labour's new argument for airport expansion?

James Forsyth 1:06pm

Today, at Prime Minister’s Question Time, Harriet Harman—standing in for Gordon Brown—joked that she could not become PM because:

“there aren’t enough airports for all the men who would want to leave the country”

Well, at least it will give the "race and gender impact" study into a third runway at Heathrow something to look at.

I'm imagining rafts of people in the channel rather like the Vietnamese boat people

Says something about the Minister for Inequality when she acknowledges her unpopularity with the male gender in such a striking way. It rather underpins the fact that her barmy policies are actually anti-male.

Nicholas, I rather suspect it was a self-justifying remark that asserts the stupidity and dumb sexism of men (as she sees it).

The fact that this halfwit, student-marxist reject is even allegedly in contention for No 10 is beyond satire.

Well she chose to underline her unpopularity in a big way today. She should not be surprised if that makes her unelectable. Alienating 50% of the population is not an auspicious start - as no doubt the selectors will have understood. After all NuLab is desperate for support and funds from any quarter.

But cuffleyburgers, Jack Straw was a student marxist, Robin Cook was a student marxist, Blair would have been one if he had ever heard of Marx, ALL labour chaps were student marxists, or just marxists if they didn't go to uni. I think a lot of the reaction to Harriet Harman is just what she hinted, male-chauvinist dumb sexism.

The fact that this halfwit, student-marxist reject is even being paid a salary is beyond satire.

Nonsense, Fergus. She is stupid, she is arrogant, she is a pathological man hater, she is patronising to everyone but especially men, she is a speak-your-weight PC-spouting android.

Novus, regarding your comment about the "dumb sexism of men". I would rather be a man than a bigot.
