One of George Plemper's portraits of 1970s working-class life in south London. The former teacher's photos were hidden away in carrier bags until the advent of Flickr gave him the chance to put them on-line. Michael Collins, author of that fine book, "The Likes of Us",  has the full story.

Thanks for the pass-on. Anthropological gems, shot for a change, by someone with an eye.

Marvellous not just for the kick of refreshing the memory of that time with its Harringtons and feather cuts, but moreso for the expressions of an attitude - or perhaps the absence of one - which is altogether gone.
