March 27th, 2008 8:01pmIt was pretty effective when I first saw a video demonstrating this hoary psychology 101 chestnut some 10 or more years ago.And yes, the progenitors used a man in a gorilla suit amongst a bunch of people playing pass. I trust the advertising brains at TfL have paid a suitable plagiarism fee!

March 27th, 2008 10:23pmThat is a copy of an American scientist's video that was on YouTube a few months ago, until it was removed for copyright reasons.
From what I remember I think it demonstrated that 50% of people notice the bear, and 50% don't.
