The footsie was pleased with the results wasn't it? What a churlish lot the BBC is - all about Labour's gloom, very little credit for superb results for the Tories.

Faceless Bureaucrat

Looking ahead, a rather interesting scenario is put forward by 'Celtic Oracle' over at Guido - effectively suggesting that Ken Livingstone could now be parachuted into Gwyneth Dunwoody's old safe Labour seat and subsequently position himself as the next Leader of New Labour, after ensuring Gordown Brown agrees to step-down on the grounds of 'ill health'(thus avoiding all the bureaucratic nonsense to remove him forcibly). It's just possible that such a scenario would indeed breathe new life into a currently demoralised Labour Party and deliver a 4th term of a Labour Government. Despite today's euphoria for the Conservatives, David Cameron needs to remember that there is no enemy more dangerous than one that has nothing left to lose. Ken Livingstone, PM?....

your hyperlink above in the sentence 'And Fraser Nelson reveals what Boris...' is incorrect. It should be:

I must say that the coffee house coverage of the mayoral election has been superb. To have Forsyth, Nelson and Hoskin at it till 4am has been a delight. This election also goes to you. Well done!
