Cameron on top form
Peter Hoskin 2:33pm
A number of CoffeeHousers asked that we put up video of Cameron's superlative response to Brown's Not The Queen's Speech yesterday. It's been put up on YouTube now, so here goes (Cameron starts at the 2:26 mark):

May 15th, 2008 4:28pmIf he performs like this at election time Broon will be melt. He makes it look easy - and that is a rare talent.

May 15th, 2008 4:40pmAgree very strongly with Ian C. I had not seen this fully, only a very short clip on ITV news, but Cameron was fantastic. More of this please Mr Cameron.

May 15th, 2008 4:41pmDeft, witty, succinct, assured and deadly - the best I've ever seen of DC - in contrast as much with Cleggie's already tedious mock-indignation act as with the balefully glowering PM: a prognathous troglodyte vaguely aware that he's been stung but too punch-drunk and slow-witted to work out exactly how.
The best bits of this clip were the, duh, reaction shots.

May 15th, 2008 5:10pmWhen he said "ah, the grin", was he referring to Broon?

May 15th, 2008 5:43pmAbsolutely superb! Here's hoping he can keep going with this. The DC express is full steam ahead.

May 15th, 2008 7:18pmExcellent stuff - amazing what being in front can do for your self confidence - DC looked and sounded affective - (we don't get much of this on US TV - Hooray for YouTube!).
But folks - look beyond Clegg the man and listen to the words -some god stuff there as well IMHO.

May 15th, 2008 9:46pmA rip-roaring performance from David Cameron - just what we've been hoping and waiting for. Blood on the carpet a last!

Liberal means something different here to what it means in the US. LibDem means No Way when it comes to General Election time. So no crafty canvassing for Clegg on this blog, please.

May 15th, 2008 10:42pmYes Cameron was good. In fact, Clegg wasn't bad either.
However, when you have a clearly incompetent and discredited target, how difficult can it be?
Why weren't they laying in to him years ago when it was obvious what problems he was storing up for the economy?

True ... but better late than never and now is the time to urge DC on to even more ferocious performances.
There will be a aympathy blow-back of course, if Brown continues to get savaged, but the hoi polloi won't vote for a pathetic 'leader' even though they may feel sorry for him.
The impetus picked up even more on Question Time and This week this evening. It looks as though the political pundits are going for the kill. Seems they have decided it's time for change so he's Brown bread! (If I have to eat my words in 2010 at least it won't be fattening).
