I've been away, I've come back, I've been away, I've come back. And in all that time, I'm still waiting for his 'details'

Not a word, of course. And certainly not an apology. What else to expect from a Milosevic worshipper who thinks Iraqis deserve to die at the hands of terrorists?

I'm sorry that Mr Clark has been subjected to "malicious comments", but it's difficult to find anything to say about him that is true yet that he would not find malicious. Malice, in Mr Clark's interpretation, extends to any comment that causes him discomfort. As much that is demonstrably true about Mr Clark ought to be humiliating to him (misrepresenting source material to an editor, by virtue of not knowing the difference between the world's premier NGO on security policy and a Srebrenica-denial outfit; attempting to cover this up by making risible yet catastrophic threats of legal action; lying directly on being caught posting extravagant praise of himself on your old blog and on Wikipedia), I fear there is scant cause for regarding him with sympathy.

I don't like Neil Clark. I really don't like Neil Clark at all. In fact, I really, really, really DON'T like Neil Clark. I'm beginning to feel better already.

How do you know that the email you recieved on 22nd August actually was from Neil Clark and not an imposter?

Stephen hasn't published the email address, but be assured that the tone is unmistakable. I speak with extensive unsolicited experience of Mr Clark's intellect, knowledge and integrity.

A vague acquaintance of mine, a man of no little taste and much wisdom, made the following remark to me about Clark's recent exertions for Express Newspapers: "I do believe the Express has found its appropriate level!" Ah yes, Desmond and Clark, such perfect bedfellows: "Quiconque n'a pas de caractère n'est pas un homme, c'est une chose."
