Apologies for the lack of posts. I arrived home, turned on my pc and...nothing. It is no more.
Apologies for the lack of posts. I arrived home, turned on my pc and...nothing. It is no more.
(It is, need I point out, a Dell. I had a Dell years ago and vowed never again. Lord knows what possessed me to buy another one, but I did. And it's been dreadful from the start. Never again. Never, ever again. I'm going back to Sony, who have never failed me.)
Anyway, I've no access to this Webnetinfosuperhighway thingy until I buy a new pc, which I will be doing today. Assuming all is well, I'll be back this evening.

February 28th, 2008 1:50pmThe home-based Macs aren't that good. You need to buy one of the industrial strength maps publishers buy to have a good Mac. Best to use what you know, Stephen. If Sony works I'd stick with them. Buying computers is a loathsome business, they are so dull to read about if you try to read Which!

February 28th, 2008 10:23pmSorry but it's not the computer. Dells are fine -- I've owned at least half a dozen. Also have owned Sonys, IBM ThinkPads, and other. All fine. Never met a laptop I couldn't make work for me the way I wanted. As I said, it ain't the computer.

March 1st, 2008 9:42pmI've tried both PCs and Macs and while Macs have their points, I've found PCs to be more versatile.
In particular, if you like photography, PCs (programmed with almost any Windows version later than Windows 3.1) will run quite the most useful collection of imaging programmes - the various versions of Adobe Photoshop, ACDSee, Irfanview, and so on.
