I was disappointed to learn last week that British wannabe jihadis were being rejected by the Taliban for being too fat.

It is probably best to keep the German Army fat and inert, particularly each Autumn.

The Bundeswehr has been abused by the political elite. It is poorly equipped and elite units such as KSK and Gebirgsjaeger seem to be suffered rather than respected. As for obesity it is a Western vice evident in British Army recruits and most saliently in RN personnel captured by Iranians. The Bundeswehr is the only credible Continental army and it is in dire need of refurbishment
