I've been catching up with the Max Mosley story, which broke while I was away.

One thing puzzles me about his attempt to remain in office since his predelictions became public knowledge. Why has he stayed? Surely he wants to be punished?

You have missed the point Stephen. He has stayed precisely to prolong the exquisite agony of public opprobium.

Was the tea-break a condition of service as detailed in the rules and regulations of the Guild of German Prostitutes (like making truck drivers take a rest) or a impromptu pause in proceedings? Maybe refueling was essential - like a Formula-1 pit-stop.

Max should be judged by his work not by his peculiar ideas of fun. He is a brilliant man who has done outstanding work in motoring.
