There's a fascinating piece in today's NYT about Malika El Aroud, "one of the most prominent Internet jihadists in Europe."
What puzzles me is the accompanying picture, described as "Malika El Aroud with her husband, Moez Garsalloui."
Thing is...how do they know?

That assumes they and you would know what she looks like uncovered. If not how would you know either way? Muslims aren't the only religion to wear unusual (to us Westerners) clothes.
One thing that was never mentioned during the "veil debate" of October 2006 was what is the actual proportion of Muslim women in the UK who actually wore the veil in public. To me it seemed a big fuss over what a small minority of what Muslim women in the UK choose to wear.
