Apologies that the blog hasn't been as regular as it should have been recently. The Jewish Chronicle has worked me hard in my first few weeks and I have been unable to keep posting as often as I would have liked.
I have now decided to blog at regular times during the week.
I therefore intend to begin the week with a political round-up after the Sunday papers. I will post again on Tuesday and Thursday with updates on the crisis on the left as I perceive it. I reserve the right to comment on other aspects of politics (or indeed other matters) around those fixed points.
I look forward, as ever, to reading your views.
Meanwhile, you might be interested to read my latest articles for the JC. This week I covered the Labour Party's planned charm offensive towards the Jews, the spat between the Spectator's Melanie Phillips and anti-Islamist campaigner Ed Husain and the growing concern in Whitehall over the ideology of its Muslim advisers.

November 13th, 2009 8:34am Report this commentI read your articles with interest - but what exactly *is* this 'Israel first' test which Melanie Phillips wishes to impose on Muslims? I can't seem to find that out via google. Either it's something a bit bonkers MP came up with (quite possible) or it's some kind of distortion of something she has said by her critics (also quite possible, possibly more likely indeed, although I'm not a fan of MP). Any clarification welcome!

November 14th, 2009 3:30am Report this commentGreat Martin - I can't wait to read your blogs about right wing conspiracies, good old fashioned socialism, the deadly Kray twins who pose a bigger threat to the UK than Islam, Jack Straw's good ideas, how incredibly funny Jo Brand is, how UK debt isn't worth talking about etc....
I'm sure it will resonate with the public.

November 14th, 2009 10:06am Report this commentYeah, how 'bout some of that investigative stuff you used to do. You did a good job on Livingstone's chicanery and probably contributed to his downfall. Take a look at Boris and tell us whether much has changed at the glass palace. The milch cow still looks pretty fat to me; just different lips on it tits.

November 14th, 2009 4:16pm Report this comment"David Cameron needn't worry about Jewish objections to his unsavoury association with Michal Kaminski – they will subside"
The above taken from a news report really amused me. Firstly, the self-proclaimed "leaders" of the Jewish community here in the UK certainly never consulted me, or tried to ascertain what my views are. Seems these same "Leaders" are also a little concerned at Marxist-Milliband for whatever that loathsome politican may be up to. The whole Board of Deputies seem to be wrought with anxiety, putting their collective feet in the mire of politics. Perhaps it is better that they retreat once more into their cosy little club and have a nice cup of tea. I gave up on them decades ago as they are so fearful, so concerned at appearing polite and such wimps. One thing though, really enrages me. They are down on Kaminski, for probable nazi-links in the past, yet Bolshies, such as Milliband et al are barely censured. It seems that Hitler and the Nazis, who we all agree were bad, were (according to the politically ignorant) far worse than Stalin and his supporters. Stalin, in case anybody needs reminding sent to their deaths millions and millions of human beings. It is considered disgraceful, quite rightly, today to be a Nazi-supporter, yet ex-commies, like Jack Straw and others, can complacently recall their youthful activities and pretend it was all a part of innocent youthful rebellion.
