Who can take this seriously?

Friday, 1st February 2008

On the Commentary blog, Abe Greenwald has a great line about Obama:

Reuters reports that if Barack Obama becomes President, he’ll hold a summit with all leaders of Muslim countries: 'Once I’m elected, I want to organize a summit in the Muslim world, with all the heads of state, to have an honest discussion about ways to bridge the gap that grows every day between Muslims and the West.’

Is he planning on doing this before or after bombing Pakistan?
What a wally (Obama, not Abe). What a menace he would be.

Obama is a classic European socialist with an American telegenic stage presence. President Bush has been accused of playing to the fear and ignorance of others. The truth is that Obama is doing just that and more with his embarrassing platitudes that confirm all of Osama's (Bin Laden) judgment of Americans. They are naive, decadent and weak and ready to appease and surrender. The only reason the European left may dislike Obama is because he disproves the canard that America is a racist country.

Obama seems to be an all points hybrid candidate: black, but not too black, vague Muslim connections, now he says he's Irish (sure, O'Bama). Do we want this guy in charge as the world falls apart? No, but do we want Bill Clinton the wilting Priapus, prowling the Oval Office again? No. McCain looks a bit of a geezer, but at least he knows the smell of real cordite.
