Violence against British Jews on the rise

The article doesn't say who are responsible for these attacks. Are there any reliable statistics available that might shed some light on this question?

A good question Ethan. It's hard to say exactly, because often the perpertrators are unseen. However, the CST report says there were 243 incidents for which a physical decription was available. Of these, the perpetrators were described as white (53%), black (11%)black, Asian or Arab (27%). Given the proportions of these groups in the population (white, 92%, black, 2%, Asian 3%) we can work out that a black person is about ten times more likely than a white person to commit an anti-semitic attack, and an asian/arab individual about fifteen times more likely. Of course we don't know about cases where the perprator was unseen, but even if ALL the unseen cases were due to white people, blacks and asian/arabs would still be hugely over-represented.

As I understand it there are in fact more racist attacks against whites than against non-whites in the UK. This seems remarkable as a smaller number of non-whites commits a larger number of racist attacks against a larger number of whites than the majority whites commit against a smaller number of non-whites...and of course Blacks and Asians fight against each other...so not all recorded race attacks on non-whites are by whites. All very Rumsfeld but you get my drift?

No racist attack is pleasant for the victim, be he or she white, black, brown or polka-dot, but if you compare Jews with non-Jewish whites, the latter are far more at risk. How would Melanie react to a Jewish fifteen-year-old being kidnapped by Muslims for being Jewish, then stabbed and set on fire? How would she react to a party of Jews being set upon by Muslims with machetes, leaving one of them in intensive care? Those are only two examples of what's happening to non-Jewish whites -- google "Kriss Donald" and "John Payne" + Razrul.

The idea that only 114 Jewsish people were attacked during the couse of an entire year is nothing but a joke.The true figure is more like 411 but given so many people dont report crime to the police its hardly suprising it is a 'low' figure.

I'd be rather more convinced by your protests if you showed anywhere near as much concern for other groups equally vilified. All hate crime is wrong: including those against the groups you vilify in words and create the climate which leads to violence against them.

What a shame that a once vibrant and productive community is the subject of vilification and "loyalty oaths" i.e. they must denounce Israel. Is there a future for British Jews in Britain? The British have had a bug up their bums ever since that day in 1949 when the fledgling Israeli Air Force shot down 5 British Spitfires piloted by British pilots over the Negev.
