A good day for freedom of speech

Tuesday, 13th October 2009

Two good things have happened today.

A legal injunction preventing the Guardian not only from reporting a question that had been put down in Parliament, relating to the oil trading firm Trafigura and Ivory Coast toxic waste, but also from reporting that it had been injuncted or the company that had obtained the injunction, was lifted after details were published on Twitter and the internet. This was a double victory for freedom of speech, since not only can we now read about this story but the law firm of Carter-Ruck, which does so much to prevent journalists from exposing dubious activities, has been forced into an ignominious climbdown.

The second good thing was the fact that Geert Wilders, the Dutch MP who campaigns against Islamic violence and oppression, has won his appeal against the government’s ban on his entering Britain --which had thus excluded a man who campaigns against extremism on the grounds that extremists would turn violent if he entered the country. At least some of our judges still have their wigs on straight.

Freedom of speech lives to fight another day.

Well isn't that great - we have a particular shortage of looney tune bigots at the moment. Perhaps that nice Mr Griffin can be persuaded to give a welcome speech to Mienheer Wilders?

It's not all good news. In their coverage of the Geert Wilders story, the BBC repeatedly referred to him as an 'extreme right wing politician' whilst offering no context at all and without mentioning that his 'extreme right wing' beliefs only apply to the religion of peace. Not such a good day for freedom of speach after all!

Good news, but I don't understand why someone like Geert Wilders was not allowed in this country when he was telling the truth about Islamic extremism? on the other hand why danger muslim extremists who want to behead infidels if they say something they don't like about Islam are welcome in Great Britain with warm smile? Why the Home Office also allow them to stay as much as they like, Why? what is wrong with them?

''the BBC repeatedly referred to him as an 'extreme right wing politician' whilst offering no context at all.''

Thats how the National Union of Journalists plays it, spin and smear.

100 years ago there was 56 muslims in the Netherlands now there is 1 million, 10 % of the Dutch population, half of Rotterdam is muslim. The demographics are frightening, Europe is dying and the ethnics having babies is through the roof.

6 million muslims in France, every European country has now got a nice 5 th column, sheer folly and utter madness, Eurabia here we come.

Man the lifeboats, abandon ship.

I wonder why lefties like Carl are so eager to label their opponents as "bigots"? I've never met bigger bigots than left-wing politicians.

This whole episode should have been raised at the European Union level by the Dutch Government. It's all very well for the Dutch Foreign Minister to welcome the court decision, but the stupid and vile Jacqui Smith should have been told in no uncertain fashion that her decision was undemocratic. Wilders may very well become the next Dutch Prime Minister, the way things are going, whilst Ms Smith will by then probably be without a seat.

Wilders isn't either extremist or xenophobic about ethnicity, but he does have a problem, as should we all in Europe, about a Muslim culture trying to superimpose their culture in to our countries. Why should we allow that? Take head scarves as just one example of many. Let them wear them by all means, but tax them, just as you would tax dogs, or tobacco, or alcohol. A thousand euros per year would be a nice tidy sum. Burkas, of course, would be
a lot more.

" . . . are welcome in Great Britain with warm smile? Why the Home Office also allow them to stay as much as they like, Why? what is wrong with them?"

Because they are extremists themselves. Extreme Marxist student politicians pretending to be "centre-left" and presiding over an establishment infiltrated and corrupted by Common Purpose, politicised towards the Left and a very specific left liberal view of the world that is beyond belief and certainly beyond rational common sense and reason.

The right wing is fair game, to abuse, to heap insults on, to use pejorative words to cartoon and characterise it, to misrepresent, to demonise, to discredit and undermine at every opportunity. Meanwhile the same Leftist bullies go in craven fear of offending Islamic extremists and the former terrorists of the IRA. Their own prejudice and bigotry has tied them up in knots of illogic. Nothing makes sense in this country anymore. The lunatics are running the asylum.

If Geert Wilders is an "extreme right wing polititian" then I must be a hyper ultra extreme far right wing voter.

Funny that, since I've only ever voted Conservative and Ukip.

1) As long as it is possible for so-called "superinjuctions to be issued, i.e injunctions which require the party or parties enjoined to keep secret even the existence of the said injunctions, the most that can be said is that one battle in the fight against the legal instrument which is incompatible with the principles of a free society has benn (temporarily?) won.

2) It is tiresome to have to point out that, except for the legal action threatened in Wilders's native country, there has been no potential or actual restriction of his freedom of speech. His exclusion from Great Britain constituted a restriction imposed upon his freedom of movement within the European Union.

Ah, aren't the Guardianistas who like skulking round here sotto voce on your global warming post, Mel!

Now who's the looney tune, Carl? Seeing as Christmas is coming up I wonder if we might not all put a few bob in a tin to and buy the nutjobs at the Farringdon Road Fiction Factory a heater for Christmas.

They hate Christian festivals almost as much as they hate people who don't believe in global warming, so we could have a nice double whammy there.

And this thing about all the news channels calling Geert Wilders an "extreme right wing" politician - it's their version of cuss words. Richard Littlejohn actually collected them all the other day so we have a glossary:

Kiwi asks ''Suggestions on a postcard, please.''

The top 5 immigration countries that are coming to England are Afghanistan, Iran , Somalia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe.

What are they bringing to the party ? nutty islam, corruption, a crimewave.

300.000 English are leaving each year because they dont want to live in the multicultural ghetto, that you tells you something.

Australia, New Zealand, Spain are the favourite places, I'd like to go to Buenos Airies or Patagonia but I dont have the money so i'll probably end up living in John O'Groats .

proof Wilhelm? you know like statistics, or even qualitative evidence? and please god don't point me to a littlejohn article!!

also, whilst i would let wilders speak, that is in no way an endorsement of his views.

i repeat again and again on these pages, it is not in any way acceptable to lump a religion together as violent, barbaric etc.
besides the clear flaw in the argument it puts you in some very suspect company if you examine historical and present cases where such categorization occurs.
and dutch liberal history isnt so liberal when comes to ethnic issues in the past - see the evidence of neighbourhood reporting of 'undesirables' during WW2.... just a bit more evidence that the world is black and white

Feline - most likely "Carl" isn't lefti but a smart-neck believer in disguise, playing an exemplary useful idiot.

Tom Durkin - if one just sticks to realism, the behavior indistinguishable from racism is inevitable. I don't want to live among black Somali Muslims (Ayan Hirsi Ali is exception but it is hard to live "among" one person). I just say truth, - I don't want. And you leftis don't raise that "racist" stench. The fact is, - it is my free choice, and it doesn't harm anybody. And BTW this choice is qualified, since all statistic says that immigration from mentioned places DOES contribute to crime, terrorism, social parasytism and barbarization of the country. So it is only realism mate, that I avoid that "cultural enrichments".

Tom Duckin squeeks '' I want stats ''.

Last year, Zimbabwe had the second-highest number of people seeking asylum in industrialised countries, according to a United
Nations report released in July. The report said the countries of origin showing a significant
rise in applications for asylum due to unrest or conflict last year included Afghanistan, up 85
percent; Zimbabwe, up 82 percent; Somalia, up 77 percent; and Nigeria, up 71 percent.

UK population

93% Caucasion
3.5% Muslim
2.5% African
1% Chinese

UK prison population

50.000 Caucausion
2.000 Asian
8.000 African
1000 Chinese

The African population of British prisons is way way out of proportion to there 2.5% size.

Recently there was a Radio 4 documentary about Thamesmead which is famous all over Europe for fraud and corruption, its now called '' Little Lagos''. Its on the BBC website.

Romanian gypsy kid pickpocket gang crime is up by 800% according to the Metropolitan police.

Tropical deceases that were wiped out in Britain in the 1950s like TB are making a comeback.

A torso of a 5 year old African boy turned up in the river Thames in 2005, the police called him Adam, the autopsy found out it was ritualistic murder that comes from west Africa, the parents believing the child is possesed by the devil, they kill the child, just google it, its a very infamous case. Yoruba is the religion more like witchcraft.

And we all know that famous email that has went around the world you know the one ''Im an African Princesss, heir to a goldmine but some pirates have kidnapped my dad the King and I want you to send me £10.000 to get him released and I'll give you half my goldmine.''

They must think we are buttoned up at the back, anyway Diane Sawyer of ABC news and 60 minutes tracked this email down and lo and behold it comes from Nigeria.

Tony, Thats all the statistics.

So There !

Tom Durkin, I am Somali I left Britain because of them they are embarrassing, fighting, not learning anything and actually want to go back the 7th century and most of them don't fellow Somali culture but the Islamic extremist Saudi Arabia culture even they been kick out of there, I came to Britain to study during Margaret Thatcher time we were less then 50 people in the capital we paid everything our education, our rent nothing was free now it is more then 400,000 because of the government who let them in, then Somali women didn't wear hijabs or burka men and women were equal they use to integrated too, there were no trouble no one knew us who we were, now you could see every page of the newspapers, when the labour government came in power they let many of them in some innocent some are criminals, the government failed to educate them and tell them to integrate, they give them translators, give them free housing, free money free for everything now they sit around doing nothing and becoming very religious, even I read in the paper this man killed a police officer and left the country wearing a burka, the other incident was 21 of July bombings right after July 7 luckily they didn't succeed someone told me the chapati flour they use was not right, I am sorry about this but you have a liberal government lefty people who tell the immigrants Britain is free country you can do what you like and the British people who put up with this everyday if they are teachers, police officers or children in schools are not happy, I left Britain because of this, the British people need a government like Margaret Thatcher then you would not have a little child from somewhere in west Africa in the river that his body parts is missing, it is messy situation and I hope something should change soon

Tom Durkin should try and be a practising Christian in Saudi or Pakistan if he wants statistics. Enoch was right when he said we must be mad to give up our country and way of life for this ridiculous multi cultural madhouse. If I had money I would be the first to leave.

I am afraid that the time to leave has come and gone my friend, phil and the rest of loonie left will as the saying goes , reap what they sow, if they want to side with the left so be it, for they will pay the price for their treasonous ways. Don't worry though there are a lot of us Americans that will come to your aid. AGAIN!

I do believe you went for the man and not the ball!
Ever considered signing up for Chelsea? Still that would be below your towering intellectual heights.

Drakken- real Americans are always welcome here and are treated with respect -we do not require help from right wing nutters like you ,a person with no conception of what a left winger is -The people who have gathered here to castigate you and your kind are down the middle tolerant and caring ones of various political persuasions other than your extremists -comprende ?

paul thanks for your compliments :)its good to be noticed -why not send wilhelm a consoling pat on his legs -it might be hard to find his head

Sunderland's electoral registers. If the error numbers in the electoral registers were common human error then they would be random and form no logic, However the evidence suggests that the errors must have been specifically placed
as not only do the same error numbers run through at least five separate electoral wards for many years they also span at least three different printing companies. (see pdf in link named 1953 to 1963). please note that a ban on photocopying any of Sunderland's electoral registers has now been introduced and it is no longer
permitted to copy any part of any electoral register by photographic or electronic means.
